Budapest Airport reports 1 mln passenger increase

The number of passengers using Ferihegy Airport jumped 1 million to 6.5 million last year, boosted primarily by the launch of a host of new discounts flights, airport manager Budapest Airport Rt (BA) said citing preliminary figures. Passenger traffic could well reach 7 million this year as a number of new international low-cost airlines are planning to offer cheap flights from and to Budapest, while those already around are expected to fly more often. One of the biggest entrants this year could be Irish Ryanair, who is said to be currently recruiting a flight crew. (Vg 1) S.F.
