Ft 1.5 bln for communal works subsidies

The Employment and Labor Ministry has earmarked Ft 1.5 billion for communal works tenders this year, unnamed sources reported. Only local municipalities and their non-profit companies can apply for the tenders, which will provide jobs for around 2,500 unemployed people for at least seven months. For communal works, municipalities can only employ those who have been out of work for at least six months, and receive public aid on a regular basis. Applications should be submitted by February 21.
