Financing of motorway construction is a mistake, experts claim
The new method for financing motorway construction is extremely costly for the budget in the long run, experts claim. The government has decided to commission motorway construction to a state-owned company outside the general budget, with the aim of diminishing the deficit of the budget. But this solution will result in larger costs in the long run, a higher government debt in foreign currency and a greater
risk in exchange rates. A spokesman in the Ministry of Finance said that this way of financing allows faster construction and slower construction would be more expensive for the country. (VG)
