Gyurcsány promises radical reforms
Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány plans to unveil proposals for a "thorough audit" of the general government in the coming weeks, he told foreign correspondents yesterday. Gyurcsány sees a need for radical reforms in the health system, in housing policy, education, state administration and in the pension system. He thinks previous prime ministers were wrong in thinking that an election can be won by an election budget. Gyurcsány also said he still insists on the target year of 2010 for the introduction of the euro currency in Hungary. (VG)
