Hungary signs up for assisted loan deals
Having agreed to extend an assisted loan for two water treatment projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina late last year, Hungary is set to sign several major assisted loan deals worth nearly Euro 100 million, András Péter Závoczky, a senior official of the Economy and Transport Ministry said. These include school construction in Montenegro, a power plant project in Vietnam and the recently announced Ft 4 billion assisted loan program for the tsunami-stricken countries of Southeast Asia. The assisted loans, managed by state foreign trade bank Eximbank Rt and aimed to make participating companies more competitive, come with preferential interest rates and insurance rates, extended maturity and a grace period.
