Despite previous expectations that it would lay off some of its labor force in the beginning of the year, Székesfehérvár-based Videoton Rt has hired 20 new staff members in its electronics factories, CEO Ottó Sinkó said. Videoton plans to extend its staff by another 20-25 people in February, said Sinkó. The change of policy is due to an unexpected electronics assembly order Videoton received recently, Sinkó said. The company also plans a technology investment of Ft 250 million this year and wants to finish other ongoing green-field investments too, Sinkó said. (Vg 7) M.K.
