A hundred steps in the fast track
Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány informed his ministers about the new reform programme dubbed "a hundred steps" for the first time yesterday in a government session. Informal in-depth talks on the content of the programme will start in the weekend with the ministers and Gyurcsány involved. Those elements of the programme which need parliamentary approval will be presented to MPs by 20 May. The Prime Minister thinks that budget deficit cannot be extended any more, therefore more taxpayers and social security contributors are needed and employment should be enhanced.
