Budapest Airport to be privatised
A planned 35-year contract period is far too short at the concession tender of Budapest Airport, says British Airport Authority, one of the major potential bidders. It would like to get a concession for 99 years, as for large-scale investments one needs a longer period of return. There could be at least ten potential bidders in the tender, German Fraport, KSL from Denmark, two Spanish firms, AIG from the US and Euroinvest Rt, a company belonging to Sándor Demján are also there, among others. The company selected for consultancy services before privatization takes place will complete its recommendations in the coming weeks and these could be approved by the Hungarian Privatisation and State Holding Company in early May.
