Expensive commodities
Prices hit new highs day by day in commodity markets. Oil and copper has not been so expensive ever, aluminium prices are on a ten-year high, zinc on a seven-year, coffee on a five-year, sugar on a four-year high. The main underlying reason for the steady climb in prices in recent years has been a huge demand for commodities in China. Hungarian companies have chosen different strategies to manage the problem. Some of them have built in these high prices into their output prices, others try to compensate them by investments in technology.
