Growth slows
Economic growth will continue to falter in the second half of 2004 with GDP growth projected at 3.6%-3.9% for the July-Dec period, trailing other new EU members' in the region, according to a recently published survey of MKIK-GVI, the Institute for Economic and Entrepreneurial Research. The report pointed up two major factors in its downbeat note: the negative effect of Germany's sluggish economy as Hungary's major trading partner as well slowing investment and employment expectations by companies.
