Television viewing
People above the age of 18 watch TV for an average of 30.34 hours a week, program director of RTL Klub, Péter Kolosi said citing his presentation held at a conference about advertising. This is 12 hours more than in 1992. About 70% of all media consumption (excluding Internet) is via television. Between 1994 and 2003 the number of Hungarian language channels grew from 7 to 43. Since 1998, smaller cable TV channels have increased their market share by 4.6% against commercial TVs. Popularity of reality shows and sports programs has increased, while fewer people are watching movies on TV. (Vg 14) G.R.
