Recycling co. forced to lay off disabled
Rolfim, the electronic waste recycling cooperative, has eliminated 490 jobs specially created for disabled employees, blaming a government decision that slashed subsidies to companies employing people with disabilities. Rolfim said the lay-offs could incur losses of several tens of millions of forints and jeopardize the national electronic waste recycling program due to be launched this August. With its workforce cut down to around 70, the company was also forced to revise its original 2005 revenue target figure down from Ft 600 million to Ft 200 million. (Vg 1) S.F.
