Changes in tax rules in 2006

Personal income tax will be affected by the most changes in 2006, the new bills reveal. The upper edge of the lower income bracket will be incresed to Ft 1.55 million and the higher income bracket will be subject to a tax of 36 per cent instead of this year''s 38 per cent. A monthly income of Ft 63,000 will be tax-free. Family-based tax breaks will be available only for those with at least three children and only to an extent of Ft 4,000 per month, instead of Ft 10,000 as present.
