Two billion dollars to Slovakia
Hungarian companies have already invested about USD 1.9 billion in Slovakia. Hungary was the single largest foreign investor last year there. Only a few companies set up Slovakian subsidiaries due to tax reasons as the corporate tax rate, with 19 per cent, is slightly higher than in Hungary. However, if managers shift their permanent residence as well,
they can save a large chunk of their personal income tax with Slovakia''s 19 per cent flat tax rate. As the legal environment is different from that of in Hungary, firms are recommended to hire local lawyers.
